News Update
The Agency has had a strong start to the second half of 2011, kicking off with the news that Anthony Clavane’s book on Leeds, Promised Land, which won Football Book of the Year at the Sports Book Awards in May, has also been voted Sports Book of the Year. Congratulations to our many clients whose books have been shortlisted or won awards this year, including Debbie Beckerman, Patrick Barclay, Jonathan Powell and Jonathan Wilson. David Millar’s memoir, Racing Through the Dark, has got off to an excellent start and we are looking forward to an excellent autumn including the premiere of the film version of Mark Baxter and Paolo Hewitt’s The Mumper starring Bob Hoskins. Recently published titles including Caroline Taggart’s The Book of English Place Names and Mike Parker’s The Wild Rover, the follow-up to Map Addict, are doing great business and Puffin author Tom Palmer is currently engaged in an exciting new project to be announced soon...
The agency continues to expand its range of writers with new additions in general non-fiction, sport, politics and the occasional children’s title, and we also continue to work with both Judith Murdoch and Graham Maw Christie agencies.
