Submissions

We are always glad to hear from potential new clients, particularly those who know our list or have been recommended to us by existing clients. We specialise in full-length commercial non-fiction and potential new clients should look at our clients’ page to gain a better understanding of the range of our list.  In the case of sport, most of our clients are either sports’ personalities or journalists.  Elsewhere, our clients are experienced writers, performers or specialists in their field.

We do not represent science fiction, fantasy, poetry, screenplays or scripts, children’s or teen fiction/non-fiction (except for existing clients).  We strongly recommend you read the relevant chapters in the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook (A&C Black), or any of the other books that deal with how to make money from your writing, as these books contain invaluable advice for debut writers on all aspects of the publishing process from approaching an agent to securing a publishing deal.

Although most of our clients come to us via personal recommendation, if you would like to submit your work, please write to us with the following details:

•    Name, address and contact details
•    Title of work and genre (e.g. sport, memoir, history, science)
•    Your previous writing experience, published titles, awards etc
•    A brief synopsis of the work detailing its contents and the intended market

Please do not enclose sample chapters, photographs, CDs, or any other material and please be sure to provide sufficient postage (British stamps only, no international postage coupons or cheques) if you wish us to return your material.   We will endeavour to respond to you within four weeks’ of receipt of material.
